I'm a veteran, and from what history , in particular has taught various nations and their militaries; is that the country of Afghanistan has been the crucible to these nations that either attempted to conquer or invade and hold the country. IMO we've given enough there. We can leave, whereas the Russians in the 80s were driven out. Hopefully Trump is doing the right thing.
I hear what you're saying, but the thing I take away from this, and I could be mistaken.Though we are leaving Syria and the Kurds are facing a possible onslaught from Turkey; with our bases (US) there and Turkey's being a part of NATO might (no pun intended) trump backing the Kurds and potentially losing a NATO ally and being ordered out of Turkey.@TJNewton

My real concern is two fold...get my monthly pension and my Social Security. As I said-a veteran. I was not changing the world then, can't do it now, but watch and comment. Oh, BTW thanks for your complimenting my service.@TJNewton
