Subjectivity, those aspects of reality that some philosophers (Thomas Nagel et al.) call qualia. The way it feels to experience the color "red".

@VSonMe Maybe you've already visited this website: "http://www.consciousentities.com/"
If not I'd strongly recommend it.

@helenS I haven't. and thanks!

@helenS I don´t like Wittgenstein...
Too much "armchair" view.

helenS · 36-40, F
@FloorGenAdm She said "beyond".
offingg · 26-30, F
@helenS People don't like to face certain questions i guess. I mean it is scary not being able to explain something without science, science is my safety blanket :)

@helenS 🤔

Quasi-random shit we don't yet know about. One day, science will envelop it, too.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
Science is a provisional, incomplete and growing representation knowledge ABOUT reality.
But not reality by itself.
So, beyond is:
- What is not yet known / observed.
- What is, as only a conjecture, unobservable (mainly cos physical limits).

What we should avoid are reassoning this way: "As there is no evidence of telephone wiring on Aztec ruins, they used celular phones"
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@offingg So "beyond Science" means something like a mystic inmaterial domain?´
A don´t deny it.
But as I see it that´s not "beyond" but what haves no common object with Science
offingg · 26-30, F
@CharlieZ No not really. The question is, what lies beyond our understanding of nature? After all, science is a tool to understand nature. What do you do when science is not enough? For me I turn into philosophy.

I'm a stem major, trust me, i'm a woman of science.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@offingg

"After all, science is a tool to understand nature".
I fully agree with you.
The limits of our understanding is a legitimate concern for scientists and researchers, like you and me are.
(My majors are also related).

Philosophy is or should be interwined with a scientific worldview. Like a "Metaphysics of Science" as called, among others, by Mario Bunge.

And other branches of philosophy may also bring some light on it.

May I ask wich paths, views in philosophy have you turned in or haves your attention?
I´m interested about.

Magic.It is tomorrows science yet to be discovered.
walabby · 61-69, M
Science is a method of discovering Truth. It's a process that's ongoing. Inaccurate "truths" are discarded, so it is a self-sustaining process. Eventually everything will be discovered, but we are an AWFUL long way away from that.

Life and every aspect of all it's workings lies beyond science. Science is the study of what already is. It doesn't create anything.

Certain studies that are requested to favor in a marketing campaign 😅🤔

Where is science? Geographically speaking.
