Science is a provisional, incomplete and growing representation knowledge ABOUT reality.
But not reality by itself.
So, beyond is:
- What is not yet known / observed.
- What is, as only a conjecture, unobservable (mainly cos physical limits).

What we should avoid are reassoning this way: "As there is no evidence of telephone wiring on Aztec ruins, they used celular phones"

@CharlieZ That really isn't my Q, I realize all of those things
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@offingg So "beyond Science" means something like a mystic inmaterial domain?´
A don´t deny it.
But as I see it that´s not "beyond" but what haves no common object with Science

@CharlieZ No not really. The question is, what lies beyond our understanding of nature? After all, science is a tool to understand nature. What do you do when science is not enough? For me I turn into philosophy.

I'm a stem major, trust me, i'm a woman of science.

@offingg

"After all, science is a tool to understand nature".
I fully agree with you.
The limits of our understanding is a legitimate concern for scientists and researchers, like you and me are.
(My majors are also related).

Philosophy is or should be interwined with a scientific worldview. Like a "Metaphysics of Science" as called, among others, by Mario Bunge.

And other branches of philosophy may also bring some light on it.

May I ask wich paths, views in philosophy have you turned in or haves your attention?
I´m interested about.
