would it be good for humanity if alcohol was banned for consumption?
I wish alcohol was illegal for consumption. alcohol has had a big impact on my life. It is only truly illegal in nine countries like bangladesh afganastan saudi arabia iran and sudan, they all are in or near the middle east.
some people say that alcohol keeps some people from doing worse things its a way to cope with things for some people and that's why they say it would be worse if it was illegal. I don't agree with that I think its worse to have it ,that people need to find better coping mechanisms and they would if they had no other options.

They tried that in the US for a bit and it led to widespread crime as mafia syndicates made a fortune in illicit production and smuggling. It failed in very similar ways to the way the war on drugs is failing now. Also, more people than ever are making it themselves at home.

It would have to be a global ban and from there it would be a long, hard road to maybe if we're lucky see some societal improvement.

I'm not a big fan of drinking or intoxication myself. I'd be all fine and dandy if it went away tomorrow. But from both a pragmatic as well as a personal liberty standpoint, I find it hard to fathom doing.
