If we had comic book like vigilantes in the real world how do think they’d be perceived?

Feared? Respected? Hated? Loved?

We have some local vigilantes who are setting up sting operations for pedophiles, not unlike what they do on NBC. They have gotten a few people on camera and uploaded to the internet. Police aren't that crazy about it being done, but it is getting rid of dangerous pedophile predators.
Probably perceived as they often are in comics, heroes to the people, anathema to law enforcement. 🤔

Although in the comic books they are exciting, like many things, if it were in reality I think most people would not want people taking the law into their own hands. Although imperfect, there is a reason we give people a trial.

I’m sure in this day and age they’d be seen as a help or a threat depending who you talk to. But I won’t lie, it feels like this is the time when someone needs to be bigger than life and help others

They would be a public nusance destroying everything. They would be public enemy #1 in whatever community they lived in. Only a fantasy world tolerate having their roads destroyed and buildings crumbled to catch some crook.

Want to know what having a superhero is like in real life? Give every police department nuclear weapons.
