Relationship down shitter after baby.. when does it get better?

So we have a one year old. Husband insists she co sleeps with us, and frankly I’m starting to agree as she’s heavily teething now. We just absolutely can’t get through the cry it out phase, we’ve tried a lot. Baby cries for HOURS. We are at a point now where our entire lives revolve around the baby. It’s non stop. As a result we get zero alone time. (We don’t have family to help) and our intimacy is pretty much non existance. We are totally resentful when either one of us needs to shower. That is how much attention our little girl is demanding. We do have times where we just say oh screw it, put her down and let her just cry. But it fills our household with screams and after 30 minutes to an hour of that we pick her up again to get back our sanity. It’s really hard. Does this ever get better? When?! Did your relationship recover?

It will get better...but i think shes a bit too young for the cry out method

@Heartlander will have to try this! Thank you so much! We do have a rocking chair and never use it

@Brassm0nk3y

The rocking chair is for the three of you. An hour of rocking your baby is more refreshing than a one hour nap :)

@Heartlander I think you are right, we gave this a shot last night and it worked! Thanks so much

🤨 I'm not sure if I want a child screaming in my ears all night after marriage.
I'll have to reconsider this

It’s tough, way more than we expected that’s for sure!@SW-User
It gets better, as they say this is the trenches. Have you tried baby orajel or teething tablets? Also childrens tylenol is supposed to help
Brassm0nk3y · 36-40, F
Yes we’ve tried all. Did orajel the other day, and I guess now ther are A TON if warnings against doing that! We freaked out of course lol, AFTERthe fact when we googled@Snowvixen
@Brassm0nk3y Yeah I did orajel for my older kiddos, my youngest is teething and NOW they say no. I mean my eldest is not even THAT old, so it amazes me how things change. Lol.

It does get better, she will get through the teething stage. Consider hiring a babysitter so you and the hubby can have a few hours uninterrupted.

Thanks, yes we need to do that !@SW-User

It does get better. Really, the only thing to do is wait it out. When my daughter went through that, I put in ear buds and sang to her.
Brassm0nk3y · 36-40, F
@SW-User will try that thank you!
Teething is hard work growing new bones is a big job. Try rubbing some vanilla or rum on her gums to help with the pain.
Brassm0nk3y · 36-40, F
Thank you @GreenGoddess Will give that a try!
later on you will wonder what all the fuss was about. I have had 4 kids. Enjoy every minuet of them
Brassm0nk3y · 36-40, F
Thank you, will remember that @nevergiveup
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
