“Hotel California” as a narrative would have made for an interesting psychological slow-burn horror film in the 70’s. Perhaps, A-24 studio could manage that today, because they seem to specialize in those type of movies.

@Thursday Excellent choices. We can't go wrong with the Beatles anyway, and they did a nice line in story songs. "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da" was another one.
Unchained Melody... When you think about how that song was written, it could be a movie of its own!!
I can't imagine loving someone so much, than get arrested and thrown in jail for something I didn't do, yet only have that certain person on my mind, wanting to touch him, and hunger for his touch and love through prison walls.

I always thought Marty Robbins-"El Paso" and "El Paso City" could be combined together to make an interesting and good Time travel/scifi western...they are good story songs.

Lots of songs are three to five-minute stories, so we have a rather large choice. This three-minute song has already been made into a 90-minute movie, and this video is an excerpt from it:

Hoobastank - The Reason
I may find the video and add it when I get home. It's about someone who knows that he has hurt someone deeply and wants the person to know that he has been inspired by them to work on becoming a better person, even if it's too late to make amends to the one he has hurt.
Also, Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin. It's about a father who, for whatever reason, was always too busy to spend time with his son, even though he wanted to, until one day his son was grown up and was then too busy to spend time with him. It's kind of a sad song, but with a good message.
