Honestly, not really because democracy was never meant to give elected officials as much power as they do now and for it be widespread for 350 million people. That’s why America was built on a republic where governments were decentralized as much as possible so the mob rule of democracy didn’t take over. That and the specific form of democracy America has is extremely inefficient where it’s a winner take all system.... In terms of Congress and elected officials, representation should be proportional to how many votes candidates get, instead of someone who recieves 51% getting everything. Also, for presidential elections, people that live in poor, rural states have so much more power with their vote than other states....democracy can only work most effective when less power is centralized
