So where do we stand on the group of people traveling north to America ?

A country has the right to close its own boarders .
And if you have thousands that claim to be getting away from bad governments / etc ......fix it.
Are we required to let them in ?
The wall ...... for everyone that is up in arms about this , remember their was a HUGE divider for a thousand years - The Rio Grande.

But that has all but dried up , so what if it is replaced now ?

Keep them out at all costs.

@TheProphet lethal force?
TheProphet · M
@MaliaAgain Yes if they try and cross.
MaliaAgain · 36-40, F
So you would have people shot just for walking. Good to know
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@TheProphet Are you under the impression that these people are gonna come storming over the country line like an invading army or something? They're trying to come through customs and border patrol. Like, at a checkpoint, where there's security personnel and buildings and stuff. Whether you want them to be granted entry into the United States or not, stop making it sound like they're trying to stampede onto American soil by force.

@MaliaAgain good people like ms13?
TheProphet · M
@MaliaAgain Not for walking, but for invading our country.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@BlueMetalChick they stormed across the Mexican border overpowering the few Mexican authorities that were there.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@TheProphet I'm not sure if you were replying to me because the other person you're talking to either has me blocked or I have them blocked, so I can't see if you tagged them.

Asking for asylum is not the same as invading. If they show up with weapons to attack then sure, defend yourself
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@gregloa They wouldn't be able capable of doing that here because the US has better equipped border patrol, and even then, if I remember correctly they had said their intention was to enter the nation from a checkpoint.
TheProphet · M
@MaliaAgain They forfeited their right to apply for asylum when they refused mexicos offer to let them live and work there. If they come here they are invading.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@TheProphet You seem to have a different definition of "invading" than most people because their objective is to be granted access to the US legally. Now you might think that's wrong, and that's an understandable position, but if a country willingly allows you to enter, then by the set meaning of the word "invade", you're not invading.
MaliaAgain · 36-40, F
@TheProphet that makes no sense to me, but since i dont know the legalities of asylum, I won't argue with that
TheProphet · M
@MaliaAgain International law calls for refugees to stay and apply in the first country they come too.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@TheProphet Correct. So therefore they'd be considered illegal occupants, because they were granted access to a nation, but left the former. An invader does so without the consent of the subsequent nation.

But then I'm just being retentive about words, I guess, because both of those are still in violation of a law or statute.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@MaliaAgain then they must cross at a border station.
