Never date someone to cheer them up because ultimately you're going to let them down and potentially break their heart harder than it was broken before.

@SW-User but it was the opposite I was always there for him and caring then he called me ugly and did like I wasn't good enough for him.

@StormyChan glad it worked out better I believe he was just testing you because as you said you did it as a favour to your friend initially he wanted to be sure that you would not hurt him and that he could trust you
