What’s it like to get a yearly review at your job.

To me, it just feels like no one knows what I do.

I’m in the supervisor role doing this for end of year reviews for my team. I’ve also had a lot of reviews myself. It’s standard. Basically if you’re doing a good job you’ll have a couple of goals that the manager will want you to work on (there are ALWAYS goals even with top performers) they’ll tell you if you’re meeting expectations for the position. If you are NOT doing a good job, the review will be all about how you can improve your performance and the things you need to work on. Don’t be nervous it’s totally standard to have reviews with every position in the world even say if you’re a mailroom clerk, janitorial staff, hourly front desk reception etc

Especially if we'd had endless memos go round about limiting use of this or reducing costs/time/money on that at some point prior to my review !
