Probably when I was a very small child in Scotland and my great grandmother took me for a walk in the highlands. It was dawn, and she told me about "the wee folk" ; also known as faeries. She saw them when she was a small girl. I remember the smell of the heather, and the porridge she made from scratch every morning.
I've told my four year old nephew that I have faeries in my garden, I want him to feel the way I did in Scotland. So far so good. He believes.
