What are your thoughts on asexuality?

I am asexual, so I think it's misunderstood and often denied outright. I don't care too much what others think of it. I don't need to prove anything to anymore. I am what I am.

I've also never felt it makes me superior to anyone.

Other peoples' sex life isn't really my business. I think generally as a society we need to get and understand that some people just genuinely don't want to have sex and it's fine and not some sort of personal insult.

It's interesting and although some people say they are asexual for life. I often wonder if it's just a phase that some if not all of us experience at one time or another. So although I don't understand it on a permanent basis I can relate up to a certain point.

I used to consider myself asexual but now i consider myself pansexual. But everyone is different. I feel like society focuses to much on sex and sexuality in general over other more important things.

I feel pansexual explains my feelings better. And for me it puts emphasis on the emotional and personal as opposed to anything else. While I dont really feel physical or i guess sexual attraction to people i feel like it might show up if i had a strong emotional connection to a person. Also when i told people i was asexual they kinda just wrote me off but if i tell people i am pansexual they usually give me a chance to explain.

@TURTLEGOD That makes sense. Attraction doesn't have to be solely physical. There are scales on the degrees of asexuality. Some are attracted to the mind, but not the body. Some need an emotional connection before thinking about anything physical. Most can fall in love romantically but still have no desire for sex. It's definitely not something most people think about

Really its still all very complicated to me. But i wish more people would think about all of the different types of orientations. There are so many different modes of existence so i always wonder why people are pushing one.
