Where do you stand on "cultural appropriation "?

I think the left prohibiting the mixing of cultures is just as noble as the Nazis forbidding the mixing of races.

If ordinary folk are reproducing art or fabrics or music or ......whatever, for themselves. Then i have no problem with it.

Gets very 'iffy' when mega-millionaire-musicians (Madonna/Stefani/Cyrus/ and endless producers. etc)start pinching bits they've seen and start making money from it.
ESPECIALLY if they don't even ACKNOWLEDGE those they were 'inspired' by.

@Picklebobble2 Exactly. A lot of my friends are musicians (most of them black) and they take pride in the fact that, not only did British musicians honour the people that inspired them, black American musicians enjoyed far more popularity and success in the UK than they did on their home turf.

It’s dumb. It’s a made up thing.

I do think it’s odd when Hollywood has a white person play someone written to be black, but that’s not precisely the same thing.

When one examines the cultural history of the planet, this stuff has been happening normally forever.

Why folks are offended by it now is senseless.

But then, we are all collectively offended by everything these days.
