Im black and I voted for Trump despite the media branding him as a racist , why?

For the same reason I prefer to live in this country and not move to Africa. id rather be in a country like America that is free and full of opportunity than a corrupt communist country that is poor and unsafe. I will always vote republican over democrats. If im going to vote democrat due to racism, I may as well buy a plane ticket to Africa.

Trumps not a racist, he's just whiter than most white folks. He lives in a different world than most of us, regardless of our skin shade. He probably looks at the struggling poor of this country as potential voters that he wouldn't want over for dinner. I voted for him too, and, at this point, I would vote for him again....although I hesitate because of his age. I think Ben Shapiro would be the perfect president! He hinted that he might throw his hat in the ring. If Ben runs against Trump in 2020, I will vote for Shapiro!

@puck61 Trump wasn't a conservative either till that was the only party that would take him. Trump is a showman, and he will be whatever gets him what he wants.

I honestly thought he sounded good at the very beginning of his campaigning. He did speak truth about American angst. But once he started with his ideas, I lost interest. I've said it once, Bill Burr was the only with balls to say that both candidates were pathetic. Both parties are to blame for this oil spill.

You're right, Trump is not a racist, to narcissistic to think about anything but himself to actually become one.

@Whatisinaname One thing is for sure, he accused of Obama of starting race wars. Accused black leaders for doing nothing to help their own people. But it begs the question, what has he done besides turn a blind eye to the KKK?
@correctingright It's so funny to hear people talk so much about the KKK. They are a non entity. Just like Neo Nazi's. The 'so called' oppressed oppress the 'so called' oppressed more than anyone else. More black infants, children, and adults have been killed by other blacks in the last year, by far, than have been killed by any crazy hate club in the last 20 years! Then one or two people are shot by police, and cities burn and professional football is ruined forever!

@puck61 The KKK is a non entity? The recent Kookout in Indiana? The rally in Charlottesville. Maybe you got your head in the sand?

I don't argue black people get killed by black people. This is true across all races. Whites kill mostly whites.

A group of people once known for killing black people simply because they are black, and your complaint is football is ruined? Maybe you should take a trip to Chicago and yell the N word while flipping off a bunch of black people and get an idea of what it's like to be hunted.
@correctingright White supremacy is a bogey man issue just like the hate clubs are . It's an annoyance being sold as a major problem by people who exploit perceived victimization. A minuscule group of silly people saying silly things , is treated like a threat when real threats are completely ignored. The fabricated threat of "white supremacy" is a useful tool for the same people that Booker T Washington spoke about over 100 years ago! Except now those people prioritize a non issue over a real tragedy and don't even think twice about it. This is just one of several things he said on the subject . (It's Mr and Mrs Lilly White who are mostly stirring this pot. Just like the rather large white girl who screamed through the megaphone for the deaths of policeman at the Black Lives Matter march. What the hell was she even doing there?)

"“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
Booker T Washington.

@puck61 I believe that is a very valid point. But I also believe that is just one side of the coin.

America can ask for forgiveness but it certainly shouldn't expect people to forget.
@correctingright No. I've said many times , if the shoe were on the other foot, there would be an almost identical dynamic . Except you would have the black power structure either playing straight, or patronizing, or hating the uppity white folks! You know what I mean? If Europeans and African Americans traded roles in history, it would be pretty much the same deal with the skin shades switched around.
