Why am i feeling guilty?

This should be one of the happiest days of my life. But now I'm feeling bad for the people who haven't beaten cancer. I'm like why was I spared but others werent?

I bumped into this post just now. My sister died 4th September 2017 because of cancer. I'm grieving though I think you should NOT feel guilt. Guilt has sense if something is under our command and we decided in one way or the other.

Thats my point of view Sir.

Chuck can understand how you feel, this is why you must make the most of your life now, as you have been lucky and got a second chance

I just lost one of my son's to colon cancer. I don't blame anyone else for that. I may blame him for a little bit, as he didn't tell any of us about his cancer. I had a feeling something was wrong, but he just kept on telling me that he was fine when I asked him.

I am happy there are those like you who do beat it. Who we don't lose. We are all grateful for that, and that you're still here.

chuck7782 yes i can see your point it is a shame for others who die from it sometimes it is diagnosed too late and it is beyond surgical intervention or it is secondary cancer or aggressive where it is has spread that is how cruel life is alas so i can understand your heat felt sympathy for others
Hey hey...shhhh I can understand the feeling (I think) but you mustn't think like that. You have been given a second chance at life. Try to focus on that...life is unfair but try and make your life great. Breath every second, turn every stone, live every second you have.

Survivor's guilt can be a normal reaction. Take the time to feel it and work through it. Don't let it consume you, though. It'll rob you of life just as fast as cancer. Be thankful and live in freedom. No-one knows how much time they have....☺

Survivor’s guilt. Not unusual given your circumstances. Volunteer for cancer related organizations if you want to give back.
