Why are people so quick to being butt hurt over nothing?

So every time I have a discussion with someone about something they 'think' I disagree with them on they become defensive. The replies are focused on making me see wrong or mean?. . .

Generally I just wonder why people can't have a civil discussion.

Is it because they don't want to learn or grow as people?

But yeah I'd prefer trolls to people with cathy newman like replies.

Though I'll at least say that you could slip a letter in the mail to let the cops know. Nobody would know it was you. And it would prevent the chance of the meth lab exploding and potentially killing you.
