@SW-User That's really good! Cheerful even! Probably good for old people with bad eyesight, they can identify the note quickly.
@SW-User WHOA *__*

@Gumba1000 yeah but its changed so much over the last couple of years that you need to really be up with the news to know what's the new note and denomination and what color it is.

my friend said if someone gave her actual monopoly money saying that it was the new note issued - she would actually believe it because sometimes it just all so new and bizarre

@SW-User How often is it changed in India? Its 20-30 years here.

@Gumba1000 to give you a perspective this was all what it was 4 years ago

and now there are 3 revisions and 2 new notes - with more coming in the pipeline - as you have seen above. this wasn't a predetermined change but a new one to combat the existing counterfeit notes in the system by obsoleting them.

@SW-User That seems nuts! And brain dead. Why not just make the notes out of the latest anti counterfeit measures? Ours are plastic, with holograms, braille, security markings, invisible ink etc.

@Gumba1000 🤷🏻 beats me really i wouldn't know - there was talk about something unique being put but then it was revealed that there was no such thing at all

@SW-User WTF!? Do they think their public is stupid? Anyone going abroad will come across the UK, Canadian, Australian, Bank notes. Fully counterfeit proof (currently).
