Anyone just pack family and move to a “new life”?

Husband and I are in a tough time in our lives. Just had a baby 8 months ago.. he got laid off from his job, 10 years as a real estate attorney, and I have my job but just got passed over for the 3rd time, for a promotion, for a job I’m already doing. It’s tough. We have about 30k in the bank.. we have family in Hawaii but don’t think we could depend on them.. we are truly talking about selling ALL of our stuff.. and starting a new life.. him passing the Hawaiian bar, me getting my real estate license or finding a sales position..I KNOW that just because you change places it doesn’t make life better but.. we think the more laid back vibe of Hawaii would make us happy.. being near a beach etc.. we don’t have a whole lot to stay here for. Anyone ever done something similar ? How did it work out?
