Are you familiar with the Darlie Routier case?

21 years ago she was found guilty of stabbing her young sons to death. There was a huge outcry when Darlie was shown at her boy's gravesite laughing and playing with "silly string". This was supposedly to honor one of the boy's birthday.

Darlie is on death row at present awaiting her last appeal. New evidence is showing other DNA found at the murder scene. Also, her husband has been accused of trying to pull off an insurance scam. What to you think?

I read the book years ago and just recently watched a 4 part special on 20/20 about her case. I have never been convinced or her guilt and it’s heartbreaking to imagine how much she has endured if she is innocent. The extent of her injuries did not seem self inflicted to me. Even if she could have inflicted the knife wounds, how did she bruise her arms like that...they were black elbow to wrist. I don’t see how you can do that to yourself. Plus the bloody sock in the alley and the dna evidence seems to support her story. I think the police and prosecutor found her guilty long before trial and ignored all other evidence. Her defense attorney seemed arrogant and so confident he would win that he did not call any of his own experts to refute the forensic evidence presented by the prosecution. He also didn’t play the rest of the silly string footage which was shown out of context and, in my opinion, biased the jury and caused her to be convicted.
For me, this is one of those cases that I have wondered what REALLY happened since the beginning. Kind of like the Jon Benet Ramey case... I pray someday day that is solved but not sure it’ll ever happen.
@LG1976 Thanks for some very outstanding observations. Well done!
