How to effectively forget someone?

The best way is to remove any form of contact so you’re not tempted to communicate with them again. I’d also put away photos, gifts, really anything of significance that reminds you of them until you’ve moved on, distractions can help as well. All of that plus time just seems to be the best way. The easy way, and not always the best way is finding someone else, although I feel that can often lead to hurt mainly for the other person and it’s not a satisfying feeling it never feels like it’s enough just something short and temporary to get you by.

@Stark yes but it is just not that easy to find a replacement..maybe dealing with the hurt might be a better way than finding a bandaid solution
@Kcmzeph that’s what my first suggestion is. Dealing with the situation my second is finding a replacement which is what most people end up doing and I don’t think is the best solution as I stated.

@Stark yes..pardon I kinda absorb something that I think I could not do
@Kcmzeph Well then attempt the first solution. Taking action is really the first step to feeling better and moving on. Attempt activities as a distraction, maybe get with friends, find something that can help you cope and feel better. For me it’s poetry, I think it helps me understand my feelings and why I feel the way I do. Also spending time with friends and getting out more is a great distraction for me. Time is the best way, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait around for it to happen try other methods to help move on as well.

Edited.
