What kind of actions result in psychological issues in teens?

Building on what abstraction has said, I also believe that parents who physically and verbally abuse their children cause pyschological issues in the child. Parents who neglect their children are actually abusers as well, because the child feels unloved and ignored. Abandonment of children also causes issues. A recent high school shooter had been abandoned by his mother and was forced to live with neighbors.
