It's a word for a thing people do. The word is ridiculous and overused. However, people actually do that thing sometimes.

It's a real thing, but 99.99% of the time when that term is used, it's used incorrectly and the person saying it is just butthurt.

@Reject Yeah, which is why the term is bad. Nobody intends that as the interpretation, but that's what we come away with.

I'm not a professional. Basically, my opinion is this: it exists. People like Bill O'Reilly have done it to people like Maxine Waters. Does the term get overused? Probably. But does it exist? Hell yes, it does.

Not much different from chicksplaining in my view. Everybody does it from time to time but nobody likes to get called on it.
