There was a time you could but now when people quit or get fired they escort them out of the building and strip them of their employee badge like it’s a court-martial.

If you quit the formal way by putting in a two weeks notice and all that then it should be fine to go and pick it up. If you walked off the job then it may be best to call and ask for it to be mailed.

Try telling them. See what they say. If it's an unhappy workplace they probably don't want disgruntled employees coming back and shooting everyone.
