Perhaps some are persecuted for their frankness but I believe the person who lies to themselves suffer most of all

@bookerdana I kind of admire people who can convince themselves that a lie is true.

I can lie. I won't lie about that. But always, in the deep part of my mind, the part I call my conscience, I know it's a lie, and I own it. But there are some truths that I prefer not to share.

@Serenitree I'm not fully convinced anyone can fully lie to themselves, the selective memory can't cover up the truth.
No reason to share everything, thats madness!

@bookerdana I think it must take a certain amount of psychosis to be convinced that a lie is true.

@Serenitree I agree but on the other side of the ledger a "fearless moral inventory" is not for the faint of hear
Serenitree · F
@bookerdana No it isn't, but then again...it's very hard to not acknowledge the truth of who you are, in the most hidden part of your mind. Well, it is for me.

I'm reading a biography of Bill W,co-founder of AA,it seems at one point he was about to go on a media blitz, using his full name.Since he had formulated the principle himself he should have known better, but it took several fortuitous incidents to get him to reverse course on the issue.
Fascinating book...

Bill W. by Robert Thomsen..I think there are several other biographies of him ,with the same title😁 but I find this one insightful
