When my pet birds chew on their wooden playset. It's not like they don't have enough toys, etc., to keep them occupied. They're destructive like puppies but smaller scale

@LadyGrace They're parakeets, so, it doesn't produce much noise. Their chewing is only "harmful" to their playset.

@Phire1 That’s great. They are so sweet. I had Toby for 12 years. It sure broke my heart when he died.

I read that parakeets live about 8 years

@Phire1 Thank you. They do, but my mom took such good care of him. He may have been 10 yrs. old, I couldn’t remember, but that sounds more accurate.
