What was the cause for early humans to spread around the planet?
@MarkPaul There weren’t many humans around during Adam and Eve’s day. All I know is that when the Lord told them to go forth, they did as they were told. Since there were so few people, I understand God permitted brothers and sisters and cousins to mate, but just for a certain time. I’ll have to do more study on why they went certain places.
@MarkPaul Ah!! Without much sleep last night, I forgot about the Tower of Babel. Genesis 11 describes a time when humans rebelled against God by settling at Babel and refusing to spread out in the world. Because of this, God confused their language, (thus the different languages) and groups of people separated and moved away from one another.
As a consequence of Babel, the people groups could not easily mix. They became genetically isolated, meaning that they married and had offspring primarily within their particular group. As the years passed, each group developed its own culture and ways of doing things. Genetically isolated, certain physical traits became more prominent in each group.
