Is this rude?

My niece asked if she could have a graduation dinner party at my home, (she lives with me) anyway, I said yes, only on the invitation I want to stipulate "leave cell phones at home or off"...the last time I had a gathering here everyone did nothing but TEXT back and forth.

I don't mind spending the money or doing one hell of a lot of work so I don't think it's asking too much to please socialize, dance or whatever.

Thoughts?

It is your home. Your house your rules. If she wants to have own rules for it, let her host it at her own place or a place she rents or pays for.
@Johnbtexas Actually, Hannah doesn't mind this, she's a wonderful girl!

@Coyotedave611 That is good that she respects your wishes and authority in this situation.
@Johnbtexas Thank you!😀

@Coyotedave611 Your welcome..sounds like your have raised or at least in part raised a responsible young lady!
@Johnbtexas The background is a bit of a tragedy, but Hannah is well adjusted and our relationship is a solid one, I believe in affirming on a regular basis how fortunate we both are to have such a great relationship based on love and mutual respect. She loves having two dads. LOL
