Why not just let the victim choose the punishment? It doesn’t have to be execution.

You’re assuming he is American. He could be Indian and wants to execute the rapists before they burn the victim alive.

i agree CONVICTED rapists should be executed but not by the victim. they have enough to deal with. when you take a life no matter what the reason, you pay a price mentally, spiritually and psychologically.

Have you any idea of the number of false accusations that happen each year? 😮
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
No. Sure, severe crimes, including rape deserve to have the proven guilty perpetrator put down, for the sake of the safety of the community. But I don't see any vengeance in this.. It can be painless and quick.. But a community should not have to tolerate or support people who behave in that manner toward it. The rights of the community to safety from these people should supersede the rights of the criminal. How much did Manson cost the community in jail?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Yes.. By the perpetrator forfeiting his life.. It doesn't have to be punishment any more than putting down an old dog is punishment.. @roy1990

@whowasthatmaskedman life time imprisonment can also work untill death much more etc......
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Why should the community pay all the money to keep the guy alive.? I don't give a damn about the one guilty party. I care about the innocent people who are at risk if he is released or escapes, and the cost to the community of sustaining him and keeping him secure. Put him in the ground and forget him without allowing him to de more harm..@roy1990

While justice may be served ... if that were the law ... how many women would have been paid to claim Trump raped them by now?
helenS · 36-40, F
No. That's self-administered justice.
These are violent fantasies.

That sounds like the middle east but worse
Sometimes it's traumatic to face the rapist again
@roy1990 yup
TexChik · F
@SW-User exactly right ... that one will stay with the victim for life ... much like the scar from a terrible accident . Doesn’t hurt to touch but it is a reminder of the pain .
SW-User
No. The victim should be left alone. Could you imagine society insisting or demanding that a victim become a killer to carry out justice? That person was traumatized enough.
