What is the biggest risk you ever took?

@iamnikki nope. I never went back except to visit

@ProdigalSummer my sister did the same exact thing but my parents relented rather quickly

@Stereoguy they do, but they have been long distance grandparents for most of my kids life, so they haven’t been close to my kids. They would do stuff like forget birthdays and drive thru my city on the way to see my brother and not stop to visit my kids.

My dad died in 2015 and mom moved in two doors down last fall. My mom is making an effort to be close to my younger two but not really my teens. She treats the older two just like she treats me, only gets in touch when she needs something.

My parents talked to me again after a few months but wouldn’t come to my house or let my boyfriend come to theirs until I was planning a wedding.

@ProdigalSummer about a month or so. She moved in with her boyfriend too. And I actually had a talk with my parents, who I always had a good relationship with, and pointed out to them how narrow minded they were being.
