If you already have a nice apartment at low rent would you consider buying a home?

I'm single and perfectly happy here. I'm able to save about three thousand a month. What should I do with it all? Retirement plan, check. Car, check.

I spoke with an expert and she says to remain put and save, increasing the amount I could ultimately put toward a down payment. Borrowing is the killer.

@SW-User Often housing values will increase faster than you can save. Have the expert do a comparison chart to show appreciation vs. saving.

I agree. Repairs that require professional work get to be very expensive very quickly. You are at the mercy of the market when you go to sell. There is always something that needs to be fixed.
