You can’t be arrested without an explanation
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@YouCanCallMeDan sure you can the cops don't have give you a reason legally
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
@Firespirit in the uk they will say “I’m arresting you on suspicion of ______. You do not have to say anything unless you wish to do so. Anything you do say may be taken down and used as evidence against you.” Then they ask you if you understand.

@YouCanCallMeDan Ah ok Its up to the officer here as they are not responsible to do it. tho some officers I say would do it anyway
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
@Firespirit without being told what you’re being detained for it’s kidnapping
Firespirit · 26-30, M
the UK is a weird place
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
@Firespirit it makes sense. You’re innocent until proven guilty. You can’t take away the freedom of a an innocent person without telling them why.
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@YouCanCallMeDan yes but I could see a drunk disorderly person not bein told why cause they don't wanna listen or someone yelling a lot and just being a cunt
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
@Firespirit they don’t have to listen. They have been told so it’s not kidnap.

In America how long can they keep you for before telling you why they have taken you?
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@YouCanCallMeDan well you can be held for 24 hours without a reason and then they have let you go if they are not gonna charge you.
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
@Firespirit I don’t understand why they don’t tell people what they are being arrested for. They must think they can make arrests for anything if they don’t have to explain themselves
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@YouCanCallMeDan well they not arrested more detained for a period of time that shall not accede 24 hours
