@luckranger71 I don't know if the Clintons tried to buy silence. There is ample evidence they attempted to coerce silence. To me coercion is more objectionable than purchase, because I can agree to sell or not. If significant power is brought to make me see how costly it would be for me, and I don't have the choice, isn't that worse? Certainly it's as bad.

Neither man is admirable seen in this light. And I am not interested in discussing their other attributes.

I am curious about this apparent double-standard. It's wrong or it isn't. It matters or it doesn't. It affects Presidential qualification or it has no effect on it. But it's the same thing.

@Mamapolo2016 My understanding is that threats were issued in both cases. Clinton's threats were worse, because they came from the government.

Both sides have revealed their hypocrisy, in my opinion. Clinton's Republican tormentors are remarkably quiescent on Trump. And Clinton's defenders are very aggressive...
@WoodyAq Exactly. I don't have a dog in this fight except utter disgust at hypocrisy on BOTH sides. Because it trivializes everything into political expediency. There IS no highroad here.
