Juggling newborn with work

I just gave birth 4 months to the day. I’ve been back from maternity leave for about 2 months. I’ve only missed 2 days. I didn’t even take half my maternity leave because I was promised I could use those intermittently throughout the year. Well here I am having missed 2 days for seriously being deathly ill (those daycare germs don’t mess around) I worked so hard while pregnant and literally went into labor while at work.. (worked up to the VERY last minute despite my doctors recommendation not to)..I at one point was told I might be up for promotion when I return also.. and well now.. after returning back I notice my boss is on my butt about having missed a couple days... I was planning to take a day off even to take my daughter to get a round of her shots, and my boss happened to mention it would be “better if I didn’t take the whole day” and “be careful with your absences” and I get horrendous judgmental looks the 2 times I have been out (when returning the next day)... I don’t know what to do.. I can’t really go to hr, it’s highly frowned upon. She’s made it clear that to get to the top you have to not take sick days or vacation “I haven’t missed a day of work in 3 years” she likes to say.. I’m just at a loss as what to do.. I’ve been i high performer, even now after having been on maternity leave 2/3 of the quarter my numbers were higher than everyone else in our team.. any advice ? I truly would like to find a way to make this work..anyone been in a similar situation?

Oh that really sucks. I wish I had advice.

I really struggled the first year back. I had BFing issues and my boss wouldn't let me work more than 3 half days at home [I was in office the 1st half of those days]. Kid quit nursing, I had to pump and had to spend extra long to even get a little, I had PPD, and my kids dad worked nights and wouldn't let us put her in daycare so we all just suffered.

I hope your home/work life improves, and you do get that promotion. I've not seen one in the 6 yrs since I had my kid.
