Do you mean like in physics or in "events in people's lives" way? I mean sure everything happens for a reason you can trace back the events you died because a bullet went in your brain it went there because a gun was fired etc, but if you mean that a person's actions influence their future 100% that's bullshit, a lot of random things will happen to people and control over your life is an absolute illusion sold by people who are too high on their Ego to admit they got lucky in life and also had help and like to brag about being "self made" "got myself to the top started from nothing on hard work", or by people who are so afraid of the unknown that they put all their hope in maintaining a certain lifestyle somehow fullproofing their future and lastly by people who lost someone and need to find reason and structure in the world so they don't lose their mind.

No. There may be direct or indirect causes of events but life seems to be pretty random otherwise.
