How do I know if I've gone insane?

I mean, being insane by definition is being unable to understand reality, or being unable to tell fact from fantasy... so how do I know if everything I think makes sense, or if everything I hear or see is real...?

You get a bag of skittles and one in the bag is malformed. If you instantly jump to a conspiracy about how the Russians have infiltrated the skittle factory to poison one skittle with polonium-210 just to target you over a facebook comment you had made about Putin, then you may be slightly insane. Unless of course you live in Russia, then you could possibly be right.
