Why would a mom promise her child this
Ok so my mom told me if I don’t clean up my room by the time she gets back she will throw away all my nail polish and make up and she says she promise she will.

Well if you’re living with your mom, then you need to follow her rules. And seeing that you are an adult, if you don’t like her rules than get a place of your own. No matter what, as long as you are “living with” someone, you will always have to follow their rules, and do things you don’t want to do. So save up, gain some independence, so that you can make up your own rules. Good luck!
