What are the main Do’s and Don’ts when first arriving in the US?

I almost said “when first arriving in America” but then I remembered I’m an American too!

Enjoy yourself. There are crooks here however and they will steal your wallet / bag or your car so don’t leave your car running or unlocked and don’t leave your bags unattended. Don’t just trust anyone. If you need help, go to a help desk or a clerk. In general people are nice though. @Sandrita

@Spoiledbrat Northern Virginia suburbs are pretty safe. And if she is working for a family to help raise children, this family probably has money, and so a nice house in a nice neighborhood.

@Sandrita I am just guessing here. Rent and housing is expensive around here, as are some other things. I cannot imagine the average family being able to hire somebody to care for their children. But I am sure you will find out. Good luck!
