Trump says he wants teachers to have guns

100% in line with what the NRA wants him to say. Do you think turning teachers into armed guards is the answer to school shootings?

I'm in the UK but if school shootings were a thing here I think I'd want someone armed in a school incase. I don't know about all the teachers because what if one of them goes crazy. But a couple or perhaps an emergency gun room with a couple of trained staff who have access.

I don't know but I can't see the US getting rid of guns so what is the best way to protect children? Having armed responsible adults seems the quickest simplest way.

@KaiserSolze "If school shootings were a thing here" 🤔

@KaiserSolze Here in the good ole USA, we'd rather deny that crazy people exist. After all, we have the only guns that just up and shoot all by themselves.
@chrisCA School shootings is an American thing.

@Pitchblue My point exactly.

It's a genius concept

@chrisCA they aren't a thing here. Access to guns is difficult. Here the worst you get is kids from another school climbing the fence possibly with a knife. They sound a fire alarm lock everyone in a hall and wait for the police. And just carrying a knife is a 4year prison sentence so mostly they don't.

If those kids with knives could get guns easily they most likely would. Then it wouldn't be so simple.

We have knife crime issues but because of the law on carrying a knife anything bigger than an inch and you're looking at four years. I hear kids talk and it does stop them from even carrying a knife. They know the law and police do stop and search kids, sometimes illegally, and kids know this so they avoid anything that could get them arrested.

My son was arrested for chasing another boy down a highstreet and shouting at him. He wasn't charged with anything but he did spend about 8hours locked up. I felt it was excessive but in another way I'm glad because there was teenager gangs basically rioting and stabbing people near by where we live at the time and those few hours locked up will make him think twice before "disturbing the peace" which is basically what he did.

If you have a black plastic child's toy gun that can't even shoot rubber bullets then you can be prosecuted. They banned selling anything that may even look remotely real from a distance so mostly toy guns are multi coloured unless bought before the ban. So police don't accidently shoot someone with a plastic gun and if they do it's technically the persons fault because they shouldn't have a black toy plastic gun.

And police marks men will shoot and ask questions later if they think you're brandishing a gun. You could have a banana in your pocket and get shot.

I don't know how else you want me to put it. It doesn't happen here, thank God, it's not a thing that happens here.

If we did have guns here things like the May day riots where they attack the stock market and animal rights activists would be worse. The police incorrectly shot a guy on one side of London and the riots went on foot with all different people joining in and looting all the way across to the other side of London for a couple of days. The police couldn't stop them. If all those people had guns or some of them then no doubt the police would be dead more than anyone in those riots because the riots were sparked by police incorrectly shooting an unarmed man. The only thing that stopped them going further was that before they reached an outskirt of south London alot of men took to the streets there and wanted to fight them all because they didn't want their town messed up, a racist political movement also got involved and put alot of nasty men there that were just wanting to hurt people and the rioters thought twice then and stopped at the edge of that town and went home lol

So sometimes the only way to fight fire is with fire.

Considering America has alot of guns your gun crime seems minimal in comparison to the number of guns. I think if we had the same number of guns relative to population half of us would be dead by now and there would be alot more small armed robberies, armed home invasion etc etc. It's difficult to get a gun, expensive so even from a criminal perspective the crime has got to be worthwhile to invest in a gun. So normal theives, housbreakers, street robbers don't bother to have a gun. They don't need them. People don't need them to defend their homes because it's unlikely they will be robbed by an armed criminal unless they're very wealthy and known to keep alot of valuables or cash and police don't need them day to day for the same reason. They just tazar people.

That's basically life without alot of guns. There's still violence and crime but it's stepped down to more of a knife level with occasional gun use for more profitable crimes. Farmers can have guns but a farmer was imprisoned for shooting a house breaker so it's probably not advisable to defend yourself with a gun even if you are allowed it.

@KaiserSolze Gun laws in Canada are similar to the UK, but not as tough.

@KaiserSolze oh we had a crazy guy attack people with a machete once. And one guy went on a crazy rampage with a shot gun. But that is the only crazy person gun attack in alot of years that I've heard of.

A guy got shot in the face in a bar by an unknown assailant but he was a cocaine dealer so that wasn't a crazy person.

I can't think of any crazy gun rampages other than that one guy.

Also I noticed they commit and medicate alot of male criminals. They don't reoffend when they're medicated with strong drugs so they don't move up the criminal food chain because they're medicated and often put on sickness benefit so have no motivation because of the drugs or need to commit crime because they have money. Disarm and disable I guess. That then leaves less people likely to riot and attack the stock market etc. If there's a riot you will get criminals who will travel to the riot so they can rob shops not because they politically agree with the riot so if half of them are medicated and have a bit of money in their pocket they won't get off their backsides to go make everything worse.

We're a very small country, small land mass, it's easier to manage than America.

Oh and after the last couple of terror attacks one guy drove to a Mosque and stabbed people there but I think he was upset and fed up about the terror attacks rather than just crazy.

@chrisCA do you have school shootings or crazy people shootings?
