How did guns in the US become so beloved?

Does it all come down to the second amendment?

We never would have had our country if we hadn't fought the British for it in the first place.. Our country is basicly founded on guns and rebelling against our own government.. No doubt civil war will ensue if they attempt to disarm us.. Shrugs

@SStarfish the US isn’t the only country that fought for its freedom through “gunpowder and blood” yet this kind of mentality is only deeply valued here. I feel like people made sure it remained that way.

@PersianRoseVA For good reason. Even today we have a group that wants to tear our government apart because they cannot tolerate an honest person that is trying to get rid of corruption. The corrupt cannot stand it and I am afraid that this is going to lead to a revolution if they get their way. Bad part is we lack people with any back bone or knowledge of history.
