Why are people scared of going to Hell, when we’re already here?

How do you know? Hell is older in the concept to do with death than the generally accepted meaning of what hell is considered to be now.

Hel was a Goddess who took the human soul in her belly and sent it backwards from death back to birth. Seeing all of their sorrow and joy in reverse. Experience all their pleasure and pain in reverse.

The idea of "Hell" being firey comes from the Jews believing they had upset the sky God so they caste out the fire God and only worshipped the sky God.

The Buddhists call it samsara, hell on earth more or less with the only escape being enlightenment.

Maybe you're a Buddhist and didn't realise lol.
