😱 You can call it anything you want when it's hopping over the back fence with your pet "Kat" in it's mouth!

Coy-Oat or Coy-Oat-Tay*.
According to an online dictionary I just tried because I am bored, UK english has 1 pronunciation and american english has 2, the ones you mentioned. But I'm an african, so we got lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs to worry about, not to mention many others I can't name off the top of my head, so keep your predators, we have them in spades. 😱

Down here it's ki-yo-tee....
RealtaReoite · 61-69, M
Around here it seems to be predominantly Ki-yoot. Or more frequently "Yoter" which nicely sidesteps the whole nasty issue.
I say ki gottie

Ki-yo-tee.

Ky-yo-tee. Ky-yote as an occasional diminutive.
