used to be you could take an old car battery to a junk yard and they would pay you for it. Copper is valuable or at least it used to be. Where I live I take old batteries back to the dealership for a refund or I take them to the Eco-station where they take them free of charge along with paint.

Any place that sells batteries will take the old one - they're paid a core fee for them(by their supplier.)
The only place for gas around here is our county hazardous household waste center

You can recycle batteries, and people might take the gas and use it if it's not too old.

@cherokeepatti house is thirty years old give it take, can smell the gas through the plastic. So idk

@SW-User I wouldn't use old gas in anything I cared about. If you know anyone who burns waste oil for heat, they've usually got enough in the tank they can add it and get the BTUs from it.

@hlpflwthat I'd have to check

Your local dump/recycling center can take those.If not, just place them close to the bay door of a (closed) auto repair shop.

Car batteries... In the US, most places that sell them will give you a few $$$$ to turn them in for recycling.

Batteries to auto zone. Gasoline take to a service garage to dispose.
