It isn't racist to show a brown man working. Now if it had been a black man it would have been unbelievable and maybe racist. Way to much political correctness. Somewhere along the line people got the mistaken idea that they have a God given right to not be offended in any way. Toughen the fuck up you pansies.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@TheProphet You're not triggered old man? :P
TheProphet · M
@Allelse Humor, but yes it has gone too far.
Allelse · 36-40, M
I've noticed that, one extreme to the other. A time when nobody took any notice and now its everything is offensive. I just wish our lot could find balance for a change.
TheProphet · M
@Allelse When did we forget humor? When did we start being offended at everything. Doubt you remember Pollack jokes, but even poles laughed. I still think Irish jokes are funny and I'm Irish American.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@TheProphet Oh I dont know!! But its exhausting at how people get worked up about it. I dont remember Pollack ones but I like Irish ones, and I've got Irish in me too, and I know an Irishman who loves nothing more than a joke about his own lot. Like the one about all Irishmen being drunks and he goes "But they are!!". And we have a good giggle. I mean I'm an Australian, and as a boy I remember how the Aussies would tease the Greek immigrants about their concrete driveways, and strange food, and all being fruit shop owners and how the Greek Immigrants, and Italian ones would tease us all about being criminals; you know because Australian was originally a penal colony and it was all good.

@Allelse We used to be able to laugh at ourselves. I think those were better times. I don't say mean or hurtful things to people in public. My friend Ashley held the door open for a black woman moving into her apartment building and the woman looked at her and said, "Another white bitch here?
Allelse · 36-40, M
Oh I know! We cant even do that anymore. Just the other day I made some joke about myself, I'm trying to remember, I think it was about how in highschool I was a disobedient son of a bitch who hated authority haha. And the bugger replied with 'That's actually not funny'. Almost like I somehow offended this person :s by making a joke at my own expense.

so the black woman felt your friend was ahhhh, what's that word, patronising her?

@TheProphet amen ya dirty Jew !
TheProphet · M
@Allelse I guess so, or she thought it should be an all black building. Guess now we can't even be polite to them without offending them so how.
Allelse · 36-40, M
I dont know. The thing is when I want to hurt somebody I'm very good at it, so its like 'Really! REALLY?!' hahaha! When someone accuses me of causing GREAT offence when I meant none at all, when I was simply mucking about and being silly.
TheProphet · M
@Allelse It's almost impossible to offend me. I've never really cared what people thought or said about me. I'm comfortable with who I am.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@TheProphet Comfortable with who you are? Yes I've noticed that :D. I think perhaps if more people were accepting of who and what they are, they wouldn't be so easily offended.
TheProphet · M
@Allelse True. I don't intentionally hurt people but I always say exactly what I think.
Allelse · 36-40, M
I find I run into the angry, easily offended middle aged woman type. The ones who go about saying whatever they damn well feel like, then the moment you voice an opinion you dont like they're TERRIBLY offended!!! Ugh! For instance I worked with one once who got TERRIBLY offended, when I told her I much preferred working with inmates in a prison library, over the general public in a normal, public library.
TheProphet · M
@Allelse I get lots of nasty comments about my beard and waist length hair. Don't know how many older people have told me to get a haircut and a job. I run a successful construction company and have more money than they can imagine. It's hilarious.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@TheProphet Why dont they like your beard?!
TheProphet · M
@Allelse I've been told I'm a hillbilly, a hippie, a bum, homeless. It's funny. I'd fit in fine on Duck Dynasty.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@TheProphet Hahaha! Yeah they have some grand beards. Nothing wrong with a beard, I have a beard! And have had one since I was 20 or so and will continue to do so till the day I die. I dont know why more men dont have beards.
TheProphet · M
@Allelse Most women love a long soft beard rubbing up against their bare kitties. I met a great red headed woman from Perth. One day I'll go see her.
Allelse · 36-40, M
Both my wife and the pretty blonde I met down the shops have told me never to shave my beard 😉
TheProphet · M
@Allelse I promised my wife before she died that I would never shave or cut my hair again and I intend to keep that promise. I've had young women behind me at the grocery store play with my hair in line.
Allelse · 36-40, M
A good promise to keep. I'm sorry about your wife, how long ago did she pass?
TheProphet · M
@Allelse Thank you. 7 years ago after being married 32 years.
Allelse · 36-40, M
Bloody hell! That would have broken me in half, you have alot of strength to have not put a gun to your head.
TheProphet · M
@Allelse She wouldn't have wanted that. I'm Catholic, even though I don't know if I believe anymore, so suicide is out. I still hope to find another woman to spend the rest of my life with. Also had a son murdered and a grandson who died. I use the hate and loss to make me stronger.
