Why are liberals so much into labels?

If you are gay, you are still a person.. gay or straight. White or black. Why does it matter? Black pride, BLM, GAy pride, LBGTQIA... we are all people. What we do in private or in public is our own bussiness

Because labels help divide,

I think we all like labels. Even then you used the label "liberals" to ask a question. Heck from the day we are born we are given labels. Boy, girl, John, Jane. It is how we see the world
did you just assume my gender and preferred pronoun? you evil bigot
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Haha I didn't even address you

@Qwerty14 Yep. Human nature. The problem is how the labels are used. But we all label ourselves. Even people who complain about labels do.

Because the names liberals give them are lot better than the ones conservatives call them. I'll s*** now I'm politicking

because people have made it a point to marginalize specific groups based on race or faith or sexual orientation or whatever, so it's up to us to find like-minded people that understand. labels help us to connect and understand each other. identity is important.

Well aren't you labeling "liberals"? You're still finding a way to put people into groups and divide them and say one side is bad and one side is good.

The fact is: humans label. Especially their identity. Just look at: RINO, neo-con, alt-right, anti-fa, BLM, feminist, 3rd wave feminist, born-again Christian, reformed Jew,
mulatto, Millennial, etc. It's not limited to one side of the spectrum. But sometimes labels are useful if people in a certain group face a certain specific problem. It's not just how we categorize each other but also how we categorize ourselves and our issues. Women have different issues from men. Muslims have different issues from Christians. Black people have different issues from white people. Poor people have different issues from rich people. Yeah we're all humans and have some core things in common but we're also all different and it's not bad to recognize those differences as long as you don't use it as an excuse to treat people like shit.

Yeah sad but true
Think of it as freedom of expression and individuality.
identity politics. a whole bunch of minorities = a bigger number then the majority...
You mean like “labeling” someone a “liberal” ? Guess it’s not limited. Are you in fact a Puerto Rican CPA or is that just an arbitrary username with no connection ? 🤔

@PuertoRicanCPA Knowing someone is gay isn’t like someone who’s involved in BDSM—it’s not just about what goes on in their bedroom, no more than knowing someone’s heterosexual tells you what they’re doing in theirs. The information is only significant in letting you know that if you meet their partner, he or she will be same gender, or if you have some religious biases you may need to move on. Just because you don’t care to know doesn’t mean people are obligated to stay in the closet.

Conservatives label, too, btw. They label in order to know who to exclude and always have.
