What would you do if a neighborhood kid lobbed a rock at your home with a sling-shot?

I've told this kid numerous times to stay away from my home and property and stop harassing the boy I'm raising. He lobbed a rock at my house on Sunday and hit it. Yesterday he had a long stick and was after something in the tree in my house. Had gotten fed up and went out and told him to leave and never come back to my yard. His excuse was that the boy was staring out at him through his bedroom window (our home, our window, he has a right to watch out the window). Told him next time I'd call the police and let them talk to his mother.

hi cherokeepatti
Good for you raising the boy.
Tell neighbourhood kid that it takes a village to raise a child and ask for his help in raising the boy. Say the same to the boy about raising the kid.
Best wishes
:)

@sogdianrock That sounds good but this child is becoming a worse menace every month. Some of the children on the bus have said he has a BB gun and shot one of the little girls with it after being invited to a birthday party, and one child saw him shooting our house with the slingshot 5 times....he also has been seen climbing up into the tree and swinging on it in the yard. He has no respect for boundaries and makes excuses or denies everything he gets caught doing.

hi cherokeepatti
I appreciate that my suggestion is challenging. The kid certainly needs raising but there are plenty of other people in the village including the police.
Best wishes

@sogdianrock He broke another boy's arm a few years ago, believe he is going to an alternative school now. He is smaller than mine but has that mean streak in him to where I don't trust him.

@sogdianrock I think he's got a personality disorder already from the way he is right now, sometimes you don't know it till they are grown or older teens but this kid is showing several signs.

@sogdianrock This has been a very peaceful neighborhood with retired folks, business people and working families living here till this couple bought the house on the corner two years ago. They built a swimming pool, the woman has a Mercedes car she drives and apparently doesn't work, but the husband is divorcing her. They never keep the yard trimmed right (will mow one small strip or patch at a time and let the rest grow up and alternate what they mow, trash and toys all over the yard etc.)...don't know why they want to have nice things and not take care of them. Also have a large poodle dog that escapes and runs loose and the boy told me he thought that the reason for that is that kid is mean to him.

There is greater security in boundaries and structure. The kid sounds like he is panicking.

@sogdianrock He needs some kind of family life, grand-parents, aunts, uncles, cousins. The way the family is living they may have alienated everyone if they do have family close. The yard looks nasty.
