Why do people thank god instead of medical science when they recover from an awful illness/accident?

Do they honestly think jesus cured them?

But then they say.."It's in God's hands now" when the Doctors [b]can't[/b] heal them. Ironic.
Where are the Doctors they trusted in now?

@Magenta oh yes and then they usually pass away/get worsr or whatever. ORRR a medical miracle occurs and oh hello there, that's god nipping back at the last minute.
