Hated for being top sales person

I work at a Fortune 500. Only female in the sales development department. I am also the top performer. My colleagues dislike me a lot. Super disrespectful, disagree with me at every chance they get - try to make me look bad etc.. it sucks because I'm pretty sure a promotion depends on these people liking me. My boss likes to say a true leader brings brings people up. Really struggling with how to get there considering the circumstances. Any tips ?

Oof.

One of the problems with workplace sexism is unless it's something actually saying sexist stuff, it's so hard to really prove. It may or not be there. Frankly, it probably is though knowing how most workplaces work. There's also the chance it's a personality issue. Or both. I dunno how you work.

Find some allies. It is unlikely everyone dislikes you equally - is anyone ever nice to you? If you're the top performer, what can you do to turn someone who is at least... less hostile into a supporter? Being the top means you must have some power.

And the other thing is to talk this out with your boss. Your boss may not be sympathetic, but can also be blunt about his opinion of how the department treats you.

Oh yes. I get along very well with everyone outside of the sales department. It's just myself and 2 men in that department. They are super buddy buddy and like I said just do anything and everything to challenge me. No respect etc. thank you for the advice ! Will have to try that. @CaptainCanadia
