When we met friends out we arranged it on a landline or in person and then just waited for each other at the place at the time arranged . No mobiles , it seems so long ago.
@SW-User good point ! We also had the scare of HIV/AIDS, which was new and a real shock and seen at the start as pretty much an automatic death sentence
