Anyone wanna gimme some tips on that whole "living alone" thing

Well with a roommate, who is my favorite person in the world
When I had a roommate, it was fine in the beginning but she had a young daughter who I discovered was hanging out in my room while I was at work because I would find crayons on the floor and raisins on my bed. I started locking my bedroom door when I left every morning but then roommate's boyfriend ended up with a key and he wasn't paying any of the rent, meaning it wasn't split 3 ways. That's when I decided I needed to go.

Living alone definitely has its perks because everything is just where I left it when I get home. I don't have to cook or clean if I don't want to, and I can walk around naked all hours of the day and I can have company anytime I want for as long as I want without having to consider anyone else.

One thing I can tell you is that they won't be your favorite person for very much longer. 😆 Living with people is difficult.

Lock your doors and windows. Get a cross bar for a sliding glass door. Have operable fire alarms and fire extinguishers. If your door is open when you come home, don't go inside. Don't assume the handyman was sent by management if he shows up unannounced.

Sometimes friends don't live together well - understand this ahead of time. A few things to sort out:

- Make sure each of you just do the fucking dishes, no matter who made the mess. Just do them. You'd amazed how many fist fights start over this.

- Pay your bills on time whenever possible.

- Never put more on a credit card than you can pay off in a single pay cheque.

- Establish what's cool in terms of having friends or lovers over.

- Learn to cook.

I prefer living alone because it's more peaceful. Just learn to enjoy your own company
Enjoy and party smart!

You'll probably need 'an understanding'.
eg: No impromptu parties if one of you has to be up for work in the morning.
Laundry all over the place; do you clean up as you go or rota things like that etc.
Be patient.. it will tKe time to adjust.. she may be your favorite person but there will come a time when you'll feel suffocated /irritated by her presence.. just be patient and you'll get over it
